I'm keeping my 4 months old Sub41 under strict observation (currently at -2 s/d), any serious drop in accuracy and it will get sold. I won’t take them to the RSC, it’s a pointless exercise as there’s no permanent fix.
Although two seconds a day is “technically within specs” (and for many people that’s perfectly fine), if you want better accuracy, newer movements like the 3235 can attain extreme accuracy. Either you can go back to the RSC . I have been collecting Rolex for over 20 years and have had many calibers including the 3135 (predecessor to the 3235). A common theme of this story involves accuracy and precision. I judge a watch by its precision (and variance being a result of 5 positions, temperature and isochronism).
I am interested in the reports I read on TRF about the reliability and mechanical integrity of the 3235 movement,and would be keen to learn more about what and when the fails occur. Before running the test my accuracy has been stellar with + or - 0.0 seconds in one weeks time. I set my watch from new at +1.50 seconds.
